In September 2018 Wieland Ventures closed an investment in the Austrian Startup UrbanGold. The UrbanGold GmbH is a spin-off from the Mettop GmbH and is developing innovative concepts for the recycling of metal-containing waste. With the investment the Wieland Ventures GmbH support the strengthening of the metallurgical competence of the Wieland Group in the field of sustainable metal recycling.
The UrbanGold GmbH was established 2014. The core of their concepts is the efficient and complete treatment of metal-containing waste. During the last years UrbanGold gained a lot of important customers in this field and they build up an alliance with a plant manufacturer, which turns the concepts of UrbanGold into a turnkey solution. With this investment the concepts of UrbanGold will be enhanced and evolved together with Wieland.
